Simple Steps for Using the BACKSTROKE WEDGE





The backstroke wedge can make for powerful, outstanding starts.  It may also cause terrible anxiety. Here is the breakdown so you'll be ready to conquer it the next time you have the opportunity.

  1. Grasp, pull and hold lever with right hand.
  2. Pull the wedge down with your left hand and hold it secure with your foot while you push back and lock the lever with your hand.
  3. Place both feet on the wedge and "check" to make sure it is secure.
  4. Take a deep breath and relax arms as much as possible until "take your mark" is called.
  5. GO!
