You don't have to be a gymnast to do the SPLITS?

  • SPLIT - swimmer's time for a portion of the total distance swum.  
  • EVEN SPLIT - each segment of a race is swum at nearly the same time or pace.  
  • NEGATIVE SPLIT - the second half of the distance swum is faster than the first half.  

Try increasing your stroke and kick tempo during the second half of your swim to negative split. 

Check the clock to make sure you swam faster during the second half.
